We have limited spots for piano players in several of our ensembles! Please see the following options, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have, or sign up for an audition spot to play for us and discuss what might be the best fit for you!
Jazz project
Many of our jazz combos have pianists in them! Please see our Jazz Project page for more information about the program as a whole, or click below for audition information.
symphony
Our two large symphonies often play pieces that have piano parts! We're looking for one advanced piano player to play for both ensembles (Youth Philharmonic, and Youth Symphony). Not every piece will have a piano part, so you won't be overwhelmed with too much music! This is what we've done with advanced harp players, and it's worked well.

Accompanist internships
We often have older high school students assist in our younger ensembles (Running Start Beginning Orchestra, Prelude String Orchestra, and Intermezzo String Orchestra). You can learn more about each of these ensembles under the Programs ->Orchestras tab. These groups tend to play pieces that have piano parts that are written with the assumption that a teacher, or more advanced student is the one playing.
As this role functions more as an assistant and not a student, this does not require tuition to be paid. If selected to work with a given ensemble, it is a volunteer position for the first semester. After a successful first semester, it may become a paid position, unless you find it to better serve you in terms of volunteer hours for school, church, etc.
To apply, please prepare an audition as listed below, as well as provide the following documents:
